Adult Center Volunteers

Assist with craft making, special events, bingo, answering the phone and a wide variety of other activities offered through the Miller Park Adult Center. The center is open 9:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Aquatics Volunteers

Assist with swim lessons at the pools.

Inclusion Companion

Assist children and adults with disabilities to successfully integrate into recreation programs such as gymnastics, crafts, swimming, sports or other programs.

Marketing/Publicity

Develop fliers/newsletters etc., distribute marketing materials, decorate bulletin boards at Lincoln Leisure Center or photograph programs for use in publicity materials.

Miller Park Zoo

Adult volunteers assist in many areas of the Zoo, including guest services, animal care and special events.

Park or Constitution Trail Clean-Up

Take an active role in the upkeep and maintenance by taking care of flower beds, picking up trash, informing department of graffiti or other problems, etc.

Bloomington Ice Center

Be a coach for the youth hockey program, assist with Learn-to-Skate programs, or assist with special events.

Recreation Program Assistant

Help with preschool or youth classes in activities such as arts and crafts, dance, music and games. Assist with instruction or coaching of t-ball, soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, or another sport. Volunteers need to be able to commit 1 - 2 hours/week during a specific program session.

Special Events Crews

Help with set-up, take-down, refreshments, games and more at one or more of the various special events conducted throughout the year (i.e. Family Day, Hill of a Race, Turkey Trot, etc.).

Special Opportunities Available in Recreation (SOAR)

Assist individuals with disabilities during a weekly program or special event. Contact Taylor Burlingame at (309) 434-2405.
