Employment Opportunities

Bloomington Parks & Recreation employs 64 full-time staff and over 250 seasonal staff throughout the year to serve the over 79,000 City of Bloomington residents. Seasonal employee positions may include skate guards, facility operation staff, sports coaches, volleyball supervisor, clubhouse staff, recreation leaders, and recreation instructors. Instructors are hired for a variety of programs including preschool sports.

The department receives hundreds of applications each year to fill its seasonal positions. Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of positions available.

You will be contacted for an interview if you are being considered for a position. If you do not hear from us, you most likely are not being considered at the present time.

All positions offered are contingent on the individual successfully completing a physical and drug screen. The City of Bloomington will also conduct a criminal background check on all prospective employees.
