School Programs and Group Reservations
Group Reservations
If your organization has twenty or more people and would like to make Zoo reservations at a discounted admission rate, please contact Sandra at sgoaley@cityblm.org or (309) 434-2250. Reservations must be made at least two weeks before your visit.
The group rate is $6.50 per person. Groups may also purchase discounted tickets in bulk. The minimum order is 30 tickets.
School Field Trip Reservations
If you would like to bring your class to the zoo, please contact Sandra at sgoaley@cityblm.org or (309) 434-2250 to make a reservation.
Admission for school groups is $6.50 per person for students and all adults. School groups receive discounted carousel tokens at a cost of $1.25 per ride if reserved at the time their field trip is scheduled.
[Note: Additional restrictions apply to group visits in May since this is our busy school field trip season.]
Classroom Programs at the Zoo
Classroom programs typically run Labor Day through Memorial Day
Preschool - Kindergarten
This is an opportunity to meet three of the zoo’s residents, learning about their natural history & daily life at the zoo. Students will see the animals at close range & have the opportunity for hands-on interaction. We can focus on a particular topic or simply have a “show & tell”. Our most popular topics for this program are animal coverings, animal groups, & animal senses. If you’re studying a specific topic in-depth with your students, we can customize a program that ties directly to your curriculum.
These programs last 30-45 minutes, after which you’ll visit the zoo at your own pace.
1st Grade - 12th Grade
We have options for you:
Animal Encounter
This is an opportunity to meet three of the zoo’s residents, learning about their natural history & daily life at the zoo. Students will see the animals at close range & have the opportunity for hands-on interaction. We can focus on a particular theme or simply have a “show & tell”. These programs last 45-60 minutes, after which you’ll visit the zoo at your own pace.
Classroom Program Fees
The fee for a program at the zoo is $6.00 per person for students and adult chaperones.
Zoo To You!
Let us bring our animals to YOUR classroom!
Presentations last 30-45 minutes and include 2-3 animals. Choose a topic that fits your curriculum or we can just “show & tell”! Maximum group size is 40 students. But individual accommodations can be made, dependent on locations. Available for McLean and adjacent counties.
ZooToYou programs are also available to community groups, senior facilities, and libraries during regular business hours.
ZooToYou prices vary and are dependent upon facility location.
