MILLER PARK ZOO STAMPEDE – 5K, 3K AND KIDS FUN RUN

BLOOMINGTON, IL – Miller Park Zoological Society announces the annual running of the MILLER PARK ZOO STAMPEDE, Saturday, March 2, 2024. 9:30 Kids Run and 10:00 am 5K Run/3K Walk start.

A premier 5K Run, 3K Walk and ¼ mile Fun Run event. Runners and walkers will experience historic Miller Park, the surrounding neighborhood and zoo animals, as the last leg of the race winds through a portion of Miller Park Zoo.

The certified 5K course begins at the Miller Park Pavilion, is chip timed and is mostly flat with a few rolling hills. The event is designed to give runners and walkers a competitive racing experience.

The Zoological Society is honored to present this event in support of Miller Park Zoo. Proceeds from the event will go to the project to restore the Miller Pak Zoo Carousel.

“Often seen in zoos, carousels are a fun opportunity to make lasting family memories and serve an even more important part of our mission by helping visitors connect with different species of animals and introducing them to new ones in a uniquely joyful way,” said Jay Pratte, Miller Park Zoo Director.

The zoo will open at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2, to assure the safety of race participants who run the last ¼ mile through the zoo, as well as zoo visitors.
